Stela Cole's New Single "Die Hard" - A Powerful Return To Music For The Singer

Artwork for "Die Hard" By: Stela Cole

Stela Cole is back with her new single "Die Hard". This song is the first release from Cole since her last single, "Roses""Roses" was from a slew of captivating singles the singer released from 2022 through 2023. Cole took a creative break from all her social media accounts after these singles. Cole detailed this break as a time for her to expand her artistry and evolve from her previous works.

In 2022, Stela appeared in the American Song Contest with her single "DIY". The song was a power anthem about her experience in a failing relationship. Fans and viewers loved her power, stage presence, and the song as a whole. Before her television appearance, she put out 2 EPs, one titled "Throwing Up Butterflies" with RCA Records and the most recent "Woman Of The Hour" independently under her very own Stelavison. Stela's most recent EP stands strong, but the artist is coming back full throttle with the release of "Die Hard".

"Die Hard" is a powerful return to music for the singer. This song showcases her vocals in a strong and melodic approach and highlights her various abilities. "Die Hard" has a dark approach to it sonically, which leads the listener in instantly. The guitar riffs create an atmosphere that perfectly suits the song. Stela experiments with a dark sound, channels more grit, and a candlelit energy throughout. The visuals she chose illustrate the way this song feels perfectly. Deep oranges, reds, dim lights, bar counters, and dark liquor all push the feeling this song has. This single feels full, fresh, and witty. Moments of her vocals like "You played me like your guitar and I let it slide" encapsulate the creative and entertaining moments throughout this track. The song excels in all ways, wether it be lyrics, sonics, vocals, or production. "Die Hard" was produced by Midi Jones, LOXE, and Ella Boh.

Lyrically, "Die Hard" details a toxic relationship. This is detailed through lyrical moments like "you played me like your guitar and I let it slide", "you're no good for me, but I'll never sober up", and "like a tattoo on my heart". Cole describes the hold this relationship has on her and her experience with not being able to let it go. This toxicity she details, is something that has power over her. In this song, Stela is self-aware which hurts her in the end. She knows this relationship is bad for her but she can't part ways, not just yet. This song exemplifies the issues of toxic relationships and the way they can affect someone. "Die Hard" was written by Ella Boh, David Burris, Midi Jones, LOXE, and Stela Cole.

"Die Hard" is a strong return to music for the singer. It's the lead single from the artist's upcoming debut album, which is being referred to as "IDWYB" for the moment. "Die Hard" was released under her very own label Stelavison, on January, 26th 2024.
