Chlothegod Releases Her Striking Debut Project "Nearly Straight"

Chlothegod has finally released her highly anticipated debut project titled "Nearly Straight". This EP has 7 tracks, including the previously released songs "Camille", "Bless Your Heart", "Outta My Mind", and "My Bad, My Fault". This project demonstrates her musical power and the vision that she has been working on."Nearly Straight" is a strong, striking, and self-assured addition to her discography.

"Camille"

"Camille" is a sweet and special song to open up this project. With production that is reminiscent of being in a speakeasy during the prohibition, this song has a retro feel to it. Production, lyrics, vocals, and sonics are all there. This song paints a picture of Chlo at the microphone singing about her lover, while the audience sips on too many martinis. Her clear vocals and cadence make this song an extra special listen.

"Bless Your Heart"

The second track, "Bless Your Heart" has a more stripped-back approach than the rest of the songs on this EP. The layered vocals and slowly introduced production make this song the gem that it is. This song showcases Chlo's vocal abilities more than the others. Her raw talent and abilities shine through in all moments of this EP, but especially this track. When the full production kicks in with the chorus, the song feels perfectly complete.

"UGOMDN"

This track has a unique and fun cadence to it. The lyrical content and production accompanied by her vocals make the song an enjoyable listen. The moments of her rap-like flow mixed with her singing bits on the chorus piece this song together perfectly. This track yet again showcases Chlo's versatility when it comes to how she presents herself on a track.

"My Bad, My Fault"

This song has a unique production and cadence in comparison to the other tracks on this project. The uniqueness almost does this track a disservice as it sticks out compared to the rest. The chorus on this track and bridge carries the uniqueness it. The verses at times can feel a little bit jumbled, but are connected back with that fun chorus and the ethereal bridge. The bridge contains airy vocals that make it feel like a breath of fresh air towards the end of the this track.

"Outta My Mind"

At track number 5, we've reached the heart of this EP. It showcases Chlo's emotions more chaotically. "Outta My Mind" is the perfect chaotic present all wrapped up with a perfect bow on top. This song flows extremely well and has personal lyrics, which make it even more enjoyable to listen to. It's fulfilling to hear the robust vocals on the chorus and hear Chlo completely let go of her composure. "Outta My Mind" is one of the best tracks on this EP, as it has full-bodied production, passionate lyrics, and chaotic crisp vocals.

"Good Guys"

After the previous track, this one is a nice break from the perfect chaos that was "Outta My Mind" This track has a fun beat to it, with lively production. "Good Guys" is another example of a well-produced song that sticks out in nature. The layered vocals and section where Chlo sings "You got to be joking" are the most delicious parts of this track. The melodies and production on "Good Guys" give it that replay value that this EP has so much of.

"Took A Trip"

Within the first second of this song, the vocals and hard-hitting production pull you in. This song has a fun and playful nature to it. "Took A Trip" is filled with unique distinctive beats and chaotic production. The vocal distortion that introduces the chorus is a great example of the prominent production. Vocally, this song showcases Chlo's talent especially when it comes to her rasps and implemented vocal fry. The lyrics and intonations provided drive this song to success. "Took A Trip" is the sister track to "Outta My Mind" in regards to Chlo just letting go of her filter and saying whatever she wants.
