Following the release of her droplet singles, “Heavun” and “Sever the Blight”, Hemlocke Springs has released her latest single “Enknee1”. Coming from her debut EP “going… going… GONE!” this single solidifies Hemlocke Springs space in the music community.
A chameleon, Springs can cover vast different styles and sublevels of genres with her vocals and accompanied production. A staple track in her discography, “Girlfriend”, which was solely written and produced by springs herself, demonstrates her powerful abilities. These powerful attributes can be seen in her latest single as well.
“Enknee 1” opens with a cinematic feel and hard-hitting yet soft production. This song has a very nostalgic and electronic feel to it. The soft and airy vocals from Springs help bring this early 2000s feel to the track. This song has a cool switch-up around two minutes into the track. The production on the end of the track has a cool movie soundtrack-esque feel to it, making the track feel like a whole cinematic experience. Springs delivers strong vocals throughout this track. With writing and production by BURNS and Hemlocke Springs herself, this song is very tight-knit within the realm of the studio personnel.
Lyrically, “Enknee 1” has a more somber feel to it. On the track, Springs keeps asking if there is anyone there to love and take care of her. She keeps saying “Is there anyone out there”? This track sorts through her insecurities and fears about love and relationships within her life. The lyrics are very straightforward but convey a strong message.
Overall, this track was a great follow-up to her pasts singles and sets the scene for her debut EP presumably titled “going… going… GONE!” coming later this year. This track was released under Good Luck Have Fun Records.
