Following the release of her sophomore album “PLAYGIRL”, Lolo Zouaï has returned with her latest single “Encore”. This single is independently backed by her very own label “Keep it on the Lolo”, making it her first independent release since her 2019 project “Ocean Beach”.
This single is an infectious and melodic pop track with unique production by Oscar Scheller. Lolo has demonstrated time and time again that she can’t make a bad song, especially with “Encore”. “Encore” follows the traditional style of music Lolo is known for and shows where her sound is going. This track boasts elements from her debut album “High Highs to Low Lows” rather than her latest album “PLAYGIRL”. However, these comparisons are quickly shut down due to the elevated and more mature sound Lolo has taken with this song. “Encore” was played on her "PLAYGIRL tour" and was just finally released leading fans to believe this could be from her next body of work. This track has a fun and interesting sense to it, with clean vocals from Lolo and catchy dance/pop production.
The lyrics on this track are straightforward forward, discussing Lolo’s relationship with a lover. She provides fun, upbeat, and cheeky lyrics with double entendres. Lolo has always been good at picking clever and catchy lyrics to accompany her tracks.
Overall, Lolo has proven herself once again with this rhythmic pop track that will be the perfect sound to fade out the summer months. We don’t know if this song is from an upcoming album, or is a stand-alone single, but I’m sure we are all looking forward to the next release under her label “Keep it on the Lolo”.
